The John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge spans the Ohio River and connects Cincinnati, Ohio and Covington, Kentucky. The Roebling Bridge first opened to pedestrian traffic December 1, 1866, 30 year before the opening of the Brooklyn Bridge designed by John's son Washington Roebling.
