City Lights of Africa, Europe and the Middle East

This image of Africa, Europe, and The Middle East at night is a composite assembled from data acquired by the Suomi NPP satellite in April and October 2012. The data was mapped over existing Blue Marble imagery of Earth to provide a realistic view of the planet. It took the satellite 312 orbits around our planet to capture 2.5 terabytes of imagery. The data was then mapped onto existing Blue Marble photographs to create Black Marble. Origin file is a 8K image for an absolutely stunning, detailed High Impact Print!
